Summary: The Forgotten Creed: Christianity's Original
Struggle Against Bigotry, Slavery, and Sexism by
Stephen Patterson
by Bishop Michael Rinehart
What does baptism mean?
Here's what Paul says in Galatians 3:
For in Jesus Christ you are all children of
God in faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have
clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Greek;
there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and
female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
We often forget that Paul's letters are the earliest Christian
documents we have. And many scholars believe that this creedal and
baptismal statement was not written by Paul, but bears the marks of
a creedal formula already in use (much like Philippians 2, 1
Corinthians 15:3–7, and Romans 4:25). Paul knew this creed and
quoted it.

Camp
Hope: God Isn’t Boring
by Jasmine Fiscal
About 11 years ago was the first time I ever participated in Camp
Hope. I was an 8-year-old girl coming in with her pigtails all
nervous and shy, holding on to my brother, because it was the first
time ever participating in a camp. I didn’t know what to expect,
and I would have never thought that was going to be the beginning
of God planting a seed in me.
Camp Hope is a three-week program designed for youth to develop
leadership skills, while also growing their faith. As for children
they learn to become disciples of God through the stories of the
Bible and engaging in different activities throughout the day. They
go through stations such as Art, STEM, Games, Drama, and Snacks,
which has always been my favorite station of them all.
