Stewardship for All Seasons Info Session

Just think of the lives your congregation could impact if your members grew their giving by 10%-15% next year! This is exactly the goal of Stewardship for All Seasons, a two-year, comprehensive process. SAS congregations embrace an impactful annual appeal and move into other vital realms of a culture of generosity: Communications and Story-Telling, Strategic Planning, Endowments, Special Appeals, Volunteer Recruitment, and Donor Cultivation

The Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod invites you to a virtual informational session to meet Rev. Pete Reuss, the SAS facilitator, and learn more about the process on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00pm. Contact synod@gulfcoastsynod.org to receive the Zoom link or with any questions.

TLGCS Youth Ministry Network

The TLGCS Youth Ministry Network will be moving our April date to April 11 to accommodate those who want to participate in the retreat offered by Lutherhill Ministries and LEAD Ministry April 2-4.

During our April 11th meeting, we will have a special speaker, Tamara Shantz, who will teach us about using the Enneagram in our ministry settings. This meeting will be 2 hours long (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM) and cost $30 because of our special speaker.

The meeting is at Living Word in Katy, but you can also join via zoom. If you're interested, please contact Sara Ray.

The Youth Ministry Team has been working diligently on the Youth Ministry resolution to suggest ways to strengthen youth ministry in our synod. They have a draft report prepared and are excited to start working on it, even before assembly starts. One of the first priorities is to gather youth ministry resources: curriculums, Bible studies, retreats, fundraisers, leadership, etc.  If you would like to be part of this newly focused team, contact Pastor Paul Zoch at anormaljoe@hotmail.com.

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is a residential academy for high school musicians. Students study with nationally recognized faculty, and are immersed in musical experiences through large ensembles (Choir, Band and Symphony Orchestra), chamber music, private lessons, elective classes, ongoing recitals and concerts. Students also experience a welcoming and joyful community that worships together daily, offering musical gifts through Lutheran liturgy and hymnody. LSM 2024 takes place at Valparaiso University in Indiana from June 30-July 28 and is open to students who have completed grades 8-12. Spots for LSM 2024 are filling fast! Nominate a student today at LSMacademy.org/nominate.

The Gathering could not happen without the love and support of our volunteers. Our volunteer applications are now open! This cycle, we have five different volunteer opportunities for which you can apply. For a detailed list of responsibilities and deadlines, or to apply, visit our website.

Would you like to volunteer at the 2024 ELCA Youth Gathering AND get the chance to attend the Young Adult Gathering? Apply as a Servant Companion to get the best of both worlds in New Orleans. The general deadline is January 15. Questions? Contact Rev. Andrew C. Patty, Servant Companion Manager for the 2024 ELCA Youth Gathering.

In 2024 the Gulf Coast Synod will expand our impact. With an increase in Mission Support of $60,000 in 2024, we will sustain our strong ministry while significantly investing in leaders for God’s church. Through a lay school, we will raise the preparation and capacity of leaders in our congregations. We will ensure that our existing rostered leaders have excellent continuing education opportunities. We invite your congregation to return your Mission Support Estimate so we can immediately implement these priorities.

Join Bishop Michael Rinehart and Pastor David Hansen on a life-changing, faith-deepening pilgrimage as we travel the world of the Bible. Exploring Greece and Turkey, the history of the New Testament comes alive. Retrace the voyages of Paul as you learn about the early church and the spread of the Gospel. Start your journey in Athens and Corinth, then into Ephesus, as you make your way to Patmos. Trip departs from Houston on June 19, 2024 and returns on June 30, 2024. Learn more and book now!
